How the store works

When you click “checkout”, you’re taken to the PayPal site for payment. You do NOT need a PayPal account – just a credit or debit card.

NOTE: If you don’t have a PayPal account, click the “Pay with Debit or Credit Card” button. After you pay, PayPal will ask you to sign up for an account. This is optional. If you don’t want an account, click the “not now” link at the bottom of the window.

PayPal does NOT send me your payment account information (such as credit or debit card numbers) – only a confirmation that the payment was accepted.

After you payment is processed, you’ll be taken to a page where you can download the purchase immediately. You’ll also receive a payment confirmation email from PayPal and an email from me with the download links. These messages should arrive within a few minutes, but please allow up to an hour, and be sure to check your spam folder.

Download links expire after 24 hours, so please download your files right away.

Music Download Help

Formats

MP3 is the most widely-supported audio file format. If you’re not sure which format to get, it’s the safest bet.

AAC files have better sound quality than MP3s. They work in iTunes (both Windows and Mac), and should work with most modern mobile devices. AAC is the format sold at the iTunes Store for downloads (“iTunes Plus”). It might not work with old and/or off-brand mp3 players. If in doubt, check your device’s manual or search the web.

Apple Lossless (Mac) and FLAC (Windows) are “audiophile” lossless formats which provide CD-quality sound. The tradeoff is that they take up more space on your device than AAC files.

Un-zipping

Files will download in a compressed format called zip. Example: Tanaora_Dia_Real_album_MP3.zip

On a Mac, double-click the zip file to un-compress it. The result should be a folder containing the song files.

On a PC, right-click the file and select “Extract All…”. If that doesn’t work, option double-click the folder, which should give a window listing the files. Press Ctrl + A to select them all, then drag to a folder on your desktop.

In the unlikely event that neither of these works, download a free un-zipping application.

Adding Music to iTunes

In iTunes, go to File > Add to Library… and navigate to the un-zipped folder. Done!

Adding Music to Windows Media Player

Select the files, then right-click and choose “Add to Windows Media Player List”. Or drag and drop the files into the WMP window.

Downloading to Android devices

Un-zip the file(s) into your Music folder, then re-scan the folder. If your device lacks an un-zipping app, it might not let you download the file. In that case, you’ll need to get an un-zipping app.

Downloading to iOS devices (iPhone, iPad)

To add your purchases to Apple’s music player on iPhones and iPads, download them to your Mac or PC, and sync to your device via iTunes.

To use the files directly in iOS, without going through a Mac or PC, you’ll need to get third-party apps for unzipping and for playing audio files.

Problems with Downloading

If the download won’t start, or stops before completion, there can be many causes. Make sure you’re using the latest version of Firefox, Chrome, or Safari compatible with your device and operating system. If you’re having problems with one of them, try a different one. Try clicking on the download link again.

Other troubleshooting steps to try:

  • Relaunch your browser.
  • Restart your device.
  • Restart your internet connection and/or wi-fi gateway.
  • Empty the web browser’s cache.
  • If you have a firewall and/or anti-virus software, disable them.

If you’re on a network, like a school or workplace, it’s possible that it places restrictions on downloads. In that case, contact the network administrator for help.

General Web Site Help

Please use the latest version of Firefox, Chrome, or Safari compatible with your device and operating system. Other and/or older browsers might not work.

If you’re having problems with the music players or the web store, please make sure you have Javascript enabled in your browser’s preferences. Javascript is usually enabled by default.
